Why is getting regular family photos so important?
As parents (and grandparents) know all too well, the years fly by and the kids grow up so fast. One moment they are little babies, the next they are going off to school. then before you know it, they are fully grown young people. You never fully know the value of the moment until it is gone.
One of the number one struggles parents have in regards to photos of their growing family is that they never have pictures with everyone in them. One parent has to take the photo and so is not included in the memories. I know personally that my mom was rarely in photos with us growing up because she was always the one taking pictures.
Doing family mini sessions once or twice a year allows parents to be included in the photos, as well as give an opportunity to get photos of just the kids and just the parents. That way you have fresh photos of every season of your families life.
What are mini sessions?
Mini sessions are shortened versions of what you might call a “regular” family session. In a traditional family photo session, families might have multiple outfits and take photos for up to 2 hours. A mini session is only 20 minutes long with a few poses and locations and one outfit for everyone. It gets everyone in and out in a very short amount of time.
Why are mini sessions perfect for family?
With Families, the shorter the amount of time taking photos, the better. Most kids have a short attention span, and even grown members of the family can have issues focusing and posing for too long. 20 minutes is the perfect amount of time to do a few poses, play around together, and then be done before you know it!

Any kind! You can do family, friends, maternity, or any specific photos you want!
Session Details:
Families will sign up for a time slot down below. Once you have selected a time slot, the $50 session fee will be paid and a Questionnaire will be filled out. Families are to Arrive to the location 10 minutes ahead of schedule to get set up. The photographer will have a location ready to go and will begin with introductions and then get a lot great photos! After the photo session, you will sign up for a photo reveal session where you can look at all the photos and decide what ones you want!

Who am I?
My name is Kristen Bowen, the owner of Kristen Bowen Photography. I have been a photographer in the greater Indianapolis area for the past 6 years, and I have a passion for capturing moments in families lives.
sadly I have lost several loved ones in the past couple years and those experiences have made me even more passionate about what I do. I know what it is like, even as young as I am, to cherish photos that I have of those that I miss. I am passionate about providing affordable, easy and joyful family photos so you have an abundance of photos of your family.
On a happier note, I love goofing around with kids, making families laugh and capture naturally posed and happy families. I don’t take myself too seriously and I don’t want my families to either.
Family photos with me will be free of stress, anxiety, or worries. I take care of everything, so all you need to do is show up and have a good time! I hope that you sign up for one of my limited family sessions (I only do a couple a year) so that I can meet you and become a part of your families story!

What is a photo reveal session?
Once the photos are edited, you will meet with Kristen to go over the photos with her. This can be done via zoom or in person. During the session you will select your favorites and pick which photos you would like to take home with you or print out.
How much do the photos cost?
I believe in upfront pricing! Some photographers will not share their prices before the session. I don’t believe in that at all. I think you should know exactly what the prices are going into the photography session. You can view my photography pricing guide here.
How do your prices compare to other photographers?
Regular photo sessions for families range from $300-$1,000+ in the indianapolis area. (I’m not joking!) I believe in keeping prices Within a range that regular families can afford. Some other photographers will do mini sessions that cost $250-$300 for 20 minutes and include a few photos. I don’t believe in that either. That’s a huge investment for a photographer you don’t know. You should be able to see the photos before you spend that much money to make sure you like them. That’s why I sell my photos after the session so you can be 100% happy with the photos you are purchasing.
Am I under any obligation to purchase images?
Not at all!! However, if I’ve done my job right, you should be in love with your photos and want to buy a few!
